Visual Arts

In Visual Arts, students learn basic drawing techniques through the use of pencil and charcoal materials. In addition, the program instructs students in the use of painting, sculpture, and pottery.

Performing Arts

The Dance Program, led by Ms Smith, is an interdisciplinary approach, whereby, students learn modern dance, modern ballet, classical ballet, jazz ballet, and elements of hip-hop dance.

The Theatre Program - under the direction of Mr. Boothe - nurtures inspiring actors/actresses utilizing individual and group theatrical performances. Students participate in one act plays, skits, and musicals in Broadway style productions. Students learn the various components of theater including acting, stage blocking, lighting and sound, set design, make-up, costume design, and business/house management.

The 2008-2009 school year featured The Prince of Egypt, TxEA's first full theatrical production. During the 2009 BLACK OUT performance, students will present scenes from Fences, A Raisin in the Sun, Gangsters, and Seven Guitars.
